Bowling Green, Kentucky
Lost River Cave centers on guided boat tours through a water-shaped cave setting that also functions as a larger park, trail, and nature-program destination.
Most visitors stop in Bowling Green for fuel, food, or lodging before or after visiting Lost River Cave.
The History & Geology
The site is a 72-acre urban park rather than a cave-only attraction.
The standard Cave Boat Tour lasts 45 minutes and combines a 20-minute guided walk with a 25-minute boat ride through the cave.
Recent rain and water conditions can cancel boat trips, which is why a Historic Cave Entrance walking tour is used as the fallback when the river route is not available.
Make a day of it
Lost River Cave is often folded into a broader south-central Kentucky cave trip, not treated as the only stop in the region.
